A Quick Catch Up: Long Time No Talk

Hi friends!! I have missed you all in these past few weeks!! We officially have internet in our new house so expect to see me poppin in a little more regularly from now on!  I still haven’t quite figured out a blogging schedule yet, but hopefully I will get into a grove these next couple weeks.

I need to take a minute to say Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all you fabulous momma’s and momma’s to be!  My mom has spent the last two weeks getting our new house organized and furnishing it with all kinds of new stuff we needed.  My mom event went shopping with us on mother’s day for our house.  She is truly one of a kind.  My mother-in-law visited us for a week (she left on Friday) and helped us get together a few rooms in our new house too.  If it weren’t for my mom and MIL we would seriously be living out of boxes for at least the next 6 months.  Mary and Cathy, we owe you our firstborn. 😉

See, here’s the proof that it took a village to get through these boxes…. this was probably 1/4 of them!

This is what our kitchen looked like during the move… I can’t even count the hours my mom spent measuring and cutting shelf liner to line all 253 shelves and drawers in our kitchen and bathrooms.  😉

I have to show you guys this picture for a couple of reasons.  1. I told you about how one of my dogs was putting my shoes on the bed while I was away when we were staying at my dad’s house… well I found the official culprit!  My husband took our other dog, Riley, to work last week and Callie was home alone for the day.  I came home to a few of my clothes (dirty workout clothes) pulled out of my hamper and strewn about on my bed along with a few of my shoes.  I went looking for Callie and found one in the basement and when I went into the guest room, I found Callie along with my other running shoe right next to her.  My husband keeps telling me to close our bedroom door when I leave, but I kinda think it is really funny to see what she has moved each day when I get home. 2. This is our old second guest bedroom set and we found a great deal for new sheets at Bed Bath and Beyond this weekend so we decided to give our guest bedroom a makeover.

Here is the new look! I am loving whites and grays and anything neutral for this new house.

We aren’t quite done organizing yet, but we did get our bedroom put together finally!

We may still need a couch or two, but don’t worry, my husband came home with a ping pong table the other day…. men… We went to Southeastern Salvage on Saturday and got 4 new rugs!  I just love the color of this outdoor rug for our deck!

Since our new yard is fenced from the front to the back, we can now just let the dogs out and not worry about them.  The other day I couldn’t find Riley and went looking for him and found him just lounging in the grass in the backyard.  It is safe to say he is loving the new house  yard.

I have lots more to show you guys, but I have to wrap up this post now.  I talk to you all soon!! Thank you so much for sticking around through this crazy hectic time right now.   I truly appreciate each and every one of you. 🙂

Cancun Mexico Trip With Jonny

Hi friends!!  I hope you Tuesday is off to a good start.  My started on a rather….icky note due to a furry little guy thinking it was okay to potty inside last night… My dogs are very well behaved and potty trained, but every once in a while.. I won’t name any names (eh hem… Riley…) one of the pups decides he isn’t going to wait until he gets to go outside.  Fortunately the accident was not on carpet… unfortunately I walked right into it my gym shoes this morning in the dark while getting ready to run on my treadmill.  So yeah.. it has been one of THOSE days already and its not even 9am.

But let’s focus on the positive, shall we?  My husband and I just got back from the most amazing vacation ever in Cancun, Mexico!!  After a hectic morning last Wednesday (my husband forgot his backpack at home when we were on the way to the airport) and a flight connection from hell (for some reason my name was under our reservation twice and my boarding pass wouldn’t let me board our connecting flight to Mexico… they worked to fix it for 20 minutes… meanwhile my husband is on the plane freaking out that I am not going to get on and I’m freaking out thinking he is going to Mexico without me… they finally got it fixed with about 1 minute to spare..).  Needless to say, we were more than ready to get to Mexico and our resort when we finally arrived late Wednesday afternoon.

We took a short shuttle ride to our hotel, Riu Palace Las Americas.  This was the first time my husband had stayed at an all-inclusive resort so he was pretty skeptical.  I had been to Cancun and all inclusive resorts quite a few times over the years and think it is the way to go for a relaxing, stress-free vacation in the sun.  This resort is absolutely stunning and did not disappoint!

I have stayed at Riu resorts before and while they are all pretty nice, this one was exceptionally nice.  It is also an adults-only resort so I think they definitely helped with the peaceful atmosphere and everything is geared towards adults so that is nice.

There are 5 or 6 restaurants in the resort and none of them require reservations, which is always nice.  There is one buffet and the rest are sit-down dining.

The food was amazing.  So fresh and tasty.  My husband was so skeptical that the food wouldn’t be good at an all-inclusive, but even he raved about it.  On our last day he said, “well I didn’t have one bad meal.” so I think that explains how good it was!

The resort was beautifully decorated with lots of lights for the holidays.  We went to the nightly show (different every night) most nights, but our favorite was the star impersonations show.  They did Brittney Spears, Elvis, Beyonce and more.  It was amazing!

I am proud to say that all 4 mornings we were there we made it to the gym!  We also played lots of games/sports during the day.  My husband loved the ping pong tournament… until a guy almost 3 times his age beat him. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I did more lounging… and swimming up to the bar.

I mean.. a cold pina colada on a hot day… doesn’t get much better than that.

Speaking of the weather.. it was amazing!  In the 70s and 80s every day except for a little scattered rain on Sunday.  We weren’t too upset though… we just sat under covering and read our books!

The pool is more our kind of place, but we did take a couple walks on the beach.

I loved having lunch at the resort and piling my plate high with a big ole salad!  yum!

Oh and mimosas and beer with lunch :).

My husband entered the football throwing contest… he did not win. 😉

The entertainers asked us if we walked to play water volleyball… we said sure why not.  They later told us it was tequila volleyball.  Every time you missed the ball, they poured tequila in your mouth… Tequila is not my thing so I tried my hardest. 🙂

Thursday night we went the theater before dinner for a little Black Jack.  Thankfully it was fake money. Gambling stresses me out. 😉

I’m better at drinking pina coladas. 😉

Thursday and Friday nights we went to the Japanese restaurant because we loved it so much!

We may have had that sushi platter times 3! 🙂 So yummy!

Love this guy!!  So grateful for time away from work and our crazy schedule to spend quality time together.  It is so important to us.

I will finished recapping our wonderful trip to Mexico tomorrow!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend!

  2. How is your morning going?  Better than mine I hope. 😉

Weekend Recap 7.11.16

Good morning!! Can’t believe Monday is here already!!  The weekends seem to go by so quickly these days whether we are at home or traveling.  We had a really nice weekend with not too many commitments so that is always nice to be able to go with the flow.  Let’s back up to Friday and I’ll show you our weekend!

After work on Friday we just relaxed and took the pups on a walk.  When we came back, I was cooking dinner and looked over to see this.  My husband and I sometimes place the dogs like this to LOOK like they are cuddling, but not this time.  They actually did this on their own and I just love Callie’s arm around Riley.  I know she is thinking “mom, I didn’t have anywhere else to put it.” 😉

Friday night was a low-key one with dinner at home and a movie.  We chose Father’s Day with Robin Williams and I can’t believe I hadn’t seen this one.  It was pretty good… well the part that I actually saw.  I was asleep on the couch by 9pm.

Saturday morning we were up nice and early to get one thing checked off our to-do list. Our friends recently moved and offered us their less-than-1-year-old King Tempurpedic mattress.  Um, Yes please!!!  We just got a new mattress earlier this year, but didn’t splurge for the Tempurpedic we wanted so this worked out perfectly.  We are saving our other mattress for when we move in the next couple years and get a bigger house requiring more beds. We thought about renting a UHaul to grab the mattress, but my husband had the brilliant idea to use our boat trailer instead.  We like to keep it classy around here, folks! 😉

After we got home, we had plans with friends to take a late-afternoon boat cruise.  I stopped at Trader Joe’s (they have the BEST snacks) for some munchies for the boat then we were on our way.  After about 45 minutes on the boat, the clouds rolled in and we headed back to our boat slip.  The rain couldn’t ruin our fun so we took the party back to our rooftop (part of it is covered) for some drinks, snacks, and card games.  And then I saw this!!  I just love rainbows!

The sunset Saturday night was so stunning.

Sunday morning I had plans to work on a couple things for two upcoming bachelorette parties while my husband did some work on our boat.  My husband later snapped this picture of Callie sleeping.  How funny is that?!?!?

I got a quick run in on the treadmill before preparing some food to grill for dinner and some lunches to have for the week.  I made a big batch of homemade salad dressing to have on hand (extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, honey, spicy mustard, mustard powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper).  I always used to make my own salad dressing, but have recently been lazy and have been using store bought versions.  It is so easy to make your own so I am glad I am back in the habit.  Plus, it is nice to know exactly what is going into it! We grilled chicken, tofu, zucchini and romaine.

Have you guys ever grilled romaine?  It is SO good!  I just toss it with olive oil, salt and pepper and put it on the grill for a couple minutes.  It is slightly wilted, but still has a crunch.

Have you guys tried these yet??  I found this flavored seltzer water at Trader Joe’s and I’m obsessed.  They also had a watermelon flavor and a cucumber flavor that I am dying to try as well.  These are great by themselves, but also go great with a little vodka for a healthier adult beverage.

Sunday night we had an HOA meeting to attend with our neighbors.  Somehow about a year ago my husband got nominated for HOA President and I got nominated for HOA Treasurer.  It is a nice responsibility and helps us get to know our neighbors better, but I’m sure most of them just know me as the girl that is always hounding them for money (I collect the quarterly HOA dues). 🙂 🙂 🙂 After the meeting and a little reading, it was lights out at about 9:30pm.  And today it is back to the grind!  Another super short week for me so that is always nice!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!

  1. What was the highlight of your weekend?
  2. Have you ever been the head of a club/organization?
  3. Do you like flavored water?

Weekend Recap 6.27.16.. Boating, Brunch and a Date Night!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you!  I hope your week is going well so far!  I got in a run at 4am today, which is a big struggle for me on a Monday, so I am pretty happy about that!  Only 2 days of work this week before we are off for a long weekend with family for the 4th of July.  It was so nice to have a weekend at home with not much on the agenda.  We ended up doing a lot, but it was all fun and relaxing.  And I got my house vacuumed, mopped, dusted, organized and back in order, which is a great way to start the week!

Friday afternoon we took it easy with a short walk with the pups and a little cuddling.  Then this happened…. Otis fell asleep with Callie sleeping on top of him.  They literally slept like this for 30 minutes.  My husband and I took a million pictures because it was just too funny.  They are the best of friends.

Friday night we ate a quick dinner of a bunch of leftovers… kale salad, spaghetti squash with pesto and roasted sweet potatoes.  Around 8pm, we went to our neighbor’s house for a little get together.  They made homemade spicy margaritas and sangria and loves of delicious snacks.  We played a few games, met some new friends, and had a blast.

Late Saturday morning we headed out to the boat with our friend and the pups.  It was a beautiful day and the water was amazing!

The boys and the pups.  (Our doggies love being on the boat.)

Riley and I enjoyed floating in the water for a while.  It was so refreshing!

Saturday night my husband and I had plans to use up a gift card at our favorite restaurant, HG Supply Co.  We started out with the ahi tuna appetizer and it was to die for!! It was paired with avocado over a seaweed salad.

I got my usual make-your-own-bowl with mushroom quinoa pilaf, roasted brussel sprouts, grilled salmon, and guacamole and my husband got the burger!

Date nights are very important to us and we make a priority to have one almost every week.  It is nice to get a little dressed up and get out of the house together.  Love this guy!

Sunday morning we met up with my husband’s aunt and uncle and some of their family friends for brunch to celebrate my husband’s aunt’s birthday!  We went to Boulevardier, a little French restaurant in a cute area of town called Bishops Arts District.

I got a huge omelette with tons of veggies and it was so tasty!!

My husband and I with Aunt Nanci, the birthday girl!

The whole crew!

After brunch my husband went to play in a tennis match while I went home and cleaned the house.  Late afternoon we headed out with another friend for a short boat cruise.  The boys wake-boarded and I cheered them on while sipping some champs from the boat. 😉

Fun in the sun with my sweet girl.  She is a momma’s girl, that is for sure.

We were pretty tired last night so it was early to bed for a 4am alarm clock for a run before work.  I hope you all had an amazing weekend too and let’s make this week a great one!

  1. Tell me about your weekend!  What did you do?
  2. Have you tried any new restaurants near you lately?
  3. If you have a significant other, how often do you guys get to do a date night?

The Rest of Our Time in Boston!!

Good morning!! I hope your day began on a good note!  I miraculously ran at 4am this morning and am still feeling those endorphins so I would say that my day is going pretty well so far! I am definitely already looking forward to the weekend to have some down time at home.

Today I am going to continue with my recap of our trip to Boston this past weekend so here we go!

Saturday morning we hung out for a bit before heading into the city for brunch.

We took the train (my husband was ecstatic!).

We had reservations at North Street Grille.  The place is small, but the menu did not disappoint.

It was huge and had everything you could want!

But ofcourse, we started with mimosas. (When on vacation…)

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and could not stop raving about them all day.

After brunch we took a little stroll to see some more sites around town.

We walked past the Paul Revere House, but decided not to go in.

We saw the Freedom Trail that goes all around Boston.

We saw Mike’s Pastry, a famous spot for cannolis in Boston, but decided we didn’t want to wait in line.  We were all still stuffed from brunch too.

Next we stopped at Bell in Hand, America’s oldest tavern!

We decided to have a drink while we were there.  I got the Berry Sangria and it was amazing!

Having a blast in Boston!

After our drinks, we walked to the Holocaust Memorial, which was very powerful.  The horrific things these people went through makes me realize just how lucky we are today.

Next we went to Faneuil Hall Market Place to browse the food inside!  I vividly remember going through this market on my last trip to Boston about 4 or 5 years ago (I spoke at a conference in Boston when I was in college).

The place is so big and filled with so many yummy treats!!  Our friend Hailey bought some dark chocolate covered espresso beans and shared them with us!  They were incredible!

While munching on the chocolate, we walked down to the water.

Boston is such a neat and unique city!  We had plans to grab a drink on this rooftop bar, but it was packed so we opted for some seats down by the water.

It was the most perfect weather while we were there.  We couldn’t stop talking about it!

Love these sweet friends!

After going home to relax for a bit and freshen up, we had plans to head to the Top of the Hub restaurant for dinner.

It is located 52 stories up with amazing views of the city!

Unfortunately when we sat down, my husband started not feeling well so we had to leave.  We went home, ordered sushi, and watched murder shows on TV.  We are so fun.  At least we got to see the incredible view!

Our flight home was not until Sunday night so we went to a late brunch at a nearby restaurant called Abington Ale House.  We had a nice table outside so we could enjoy the lovely weather.

We all enjoyed our food and the company. 🙂

We spent the rest of the day out by the pool playing card games.  We had the most wonderful time in Boston thanks to our terrific hosts, Drew and Hailey!  If you have never been to Boston, I highly recommend it!

  1. Do you order breakfast or lunch when you go to brunch?
  2. Have you  ever tried chocolate covered espresso beans?
  3. Do you prefer a night in or a night out on the town?

Weekend Recap 6.6.16 with a video

Good morning friends! How are you guys doing today?  Today is looking like a second cup of coffee kind of day around here.  Our weekend was a mix of relaxation and productivity, which is always good!

Friday night we took it easy and just caught up on a few shows.  Saturday morning I went to a Body Pump class followed by some party planning and shopping with my sister.  We ended up working all day and night with a couple breaks for dinner with the boys and a card game.  I will show you what we were working on once the event has happened!

We are currently watching 3 dogs (plus our 2) so a lot of play time and walks happened too.  My husband got this video of the dogs attacking  kissing me.  I created a youtube channel so I can start showing you more videos.  I love seeing videos on other blogs so I thought I should hop on the bandwagon.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHIf6SVhRao

Sunday morning, my husband and I, and 3 friends headed out to the lake for a boat day with yummy drinks and snacks.  It was such a beautiful day.  The boys took turns wakeboarding while I caught some rays. 🙂

Sunday night, my husband and I went to Sushi Axiom for half-priced sushi!  We started with edamame and a seaweed salad.

We shared a few rolls and were very impressed by how good they were! So yummy!

I think we were in bed by 9am last night.  The sun can really ware you out! That sums up our weekend.  It was so nice to be home with not many plans for a change!  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will see you all tomorrow!

  1. What did you do this weekend?
  2. Do you like sushi?
  3. Did you get to spend sometime outside this weekend?

Weekend Recap 5.2.16

Well, it is here again.  Monday, that is.  It always seems to sneak up on us, doesn’t it?  We had crazy thunderstorms around here last night so the coffee is flowing already.

Another weekend roundup coming atcha.  After work on Friday we loaded up the pups (our 2 plus 3 extras) and headed to the dog park to (hopefully) tire them out.  My husband played fetch with this one while the others just roamed around.

This girl never leaves my side… she ventures out maybe 10 feet away, but then runs back quickly.  She acts like there is an invisible fence around me and she can only go so far or it will zap her.  When she starts going a little farther away from me than normal, my husband and I always joke and say “beep beep beep” as if she is going past her invisible fence.  She is quite the character.

Friday night we decided to go to our favorite restaurant, HG Supply Co, for dinner.  There was a 45 minute wait so we put our name in then ventured across the street to the Blind Butcher for a drink on the patio while we waited.

We had a giftcard from our anniversary that we wanted to use.  (Thanks Mimi!!!)

My husband got the pulled pork tacos and I did the “build your own” bowl with mushroom and cashew quinoa pilaf, honey-garlic brussels sprouts, guacamole, and grilled salmon.  We both raved over our meals.

Saturday morning started bright and early with a whole body circuit at home for me while my husband played tennis.  After lunch we had some shopping to do.  My husband and I both had a couple things to get for an upcoming trip.  He was way more successful than I was.  He also snapped the below picture of me in front of this cute sign…

After some shopping, we headed home to tackle a home project… a leaking toilet… of the joys of homeownership. 😉

Saturday night was spent relaxing on our rooftop deck with all the pups.

Sunday we had plans to meet our friends for a boat day.  We all met at our boat around 10am then headed out.  The boys all turn turns wakeboarding and skiing while the girls enjoyed the sunshine.  We had so much fun that I didn’t end up snapping any pictures the entire day.  Oh well…

All in all, it was a great weekend with lots of fun.  Today started out with a 6am Body Pump class that I had to sprint into the gym for because of the crazy rain.  Time for some more coffee!! Have a great week everyone!

  1. How was your weekend?  What did you do?
  2. Any big plans for this week?
  3. Did you get any rain this weekend?

Weekend Recap 4.25.16

Good morning!!! How was your weekend?  Ours was one for the books!!  On Friday, I drove to Arkansas with a friend and my two puppies to meet my husband (he was already there for work) at our friends’ house to surprise them for their birthdays (they both had birthdays on Saturday)!!  It was such a fun surprise and we had a busy weekend with lots of plans!

After we arrived to our friends’ house on Friday afternoon, we had a cocktail on their beautiful porch!

The pups were happy to be out of the car!

A big group of us went to out to dinner and I got the beet salad, which was delicious!

Me and the birthday boy!

After dinner we hung out at the house while playing some games.  All the girlies!

Our best attempt at a group picture Friday night.

Saturday morning started bright and early with a run around the neighborhood.  Our friends live in a neighborhood with a ton of hills so I was pretty sore from my run.  I had to ice my shins when I got home last night.

After we got ready, we headed to Arsaga’s for brunch!  I got the kale salad and two scrambled eggs and it hit the spot!

The girls after brunch!

After brunch we wondered around the college town and did a little shopping at a cute boutique.  I got 3 new casual dresses for our upcoming trip!

After a little shopping, we came home and took a long walk with the pups and relaxed a bit before heading to Gloss to get our nails done while the boys played golf!

After our nails were nice and pretty, we headed to pick up a few things from the store to grill for dinner.  We grilled salmon, burgers, and lots of veggies.  We dinner we sang happy birthday to our friends and cut the cake! It was a milestone birthday for our friend Rachel.  How cute is this cake that her fiance got?

They blew out the candles (my friend Rachel and her fiance have the same birthday!! How crazy is that??) and we watched as Rachel opened all her “gag” gifts!  We all had quite a few laughs. 🙂

After dinner and gift opening, a bunch of their friends came over for a party at the house.  It was really fun!!  Then we headed to the bars for a little more fun.  Our first stop was this bar called Shotz.  The bar is known for its shots that are served in ice shot glasses that you throw on the ground after taking the shot.  I don’t do shots, but loved watching everyone else! 🙂  After another bar and lots of dancing, we called it a night.

We headed back to Dallas Sunday morning.  I drove the whole way while the boys slept…. I surprisingly had a lot of energy when we got home so after unpacking, doing the laundry, and taking the pups on a walk, I ran an easy 5 miles on the treadmill and ended up with over 18,000 steps for the day.  I am pretty pleased with that number considering I was in the car for 5 hours!

I didn’t get a chance to do any grocery shopping yesterday (I avoid on Sundays if possible because it is so crowded) so we ordered thai food for dinner.  These fresh salad rolls with peanut sauce were soo good.

We were wiped and headed to bed early.  I made it to my Body Pump class this morning so my week is off to a great start!! I hope you guys had an amazing weekend and that your week is just as great!

  1. What did you do this weekend?
  2. Do you like to dance?
  3. Do you get your nails done regularly?

Weekend Recap 4.18.16 and Healthy Tuna Bean Salad Recipe

Hi ya’ll!  Happy Monday!! How was your weekend?  I hope it was great, mine was! This weekend my father-in-law and brother-in-law were visiting!  We had a blast despite the rainy weather.

Let’s first back up to Friday afternoon.  I got in a quick 5 miles on the treadmill after work.

I picked up some strawberries and raspberries at the store this week and they are so good!

Then we celebrated the beginning of the weekend with cocktails on the rooftop!  We picked my brother-in-law up at the airport then headed out for a drink with some friends.

Saturday started with a Body Pump class then we all took a trip out to our boat so my husband could do some maintenance stuff.  The weather was too icky to go on the boat. 😦  Afterwards we stopped by Lowes so the boys could browse… remind me never to go to Lowes with 3 boys ever again.  Two hours later, we headed home.  The boys headed to the Rangers game on Saturday night and my sister and I hung out with the pups plus these two cuties.

Sunday morning started bright and early with a 5 mile run then we got ready to head to Top Golf.  We had a drink and some appetizers while we waited for our bay.  Top Golf was so much fun and luckily it is covered so even though it was raining, we still got to play!

Then we lounged around for a bit and played a lot of fetch with the pups!

We went to dinner at Ragin Crab.  It was good, but soo messy.  Definitely not somewhere you would want to take a first date. 🙂

We grabbed a popsicle from Steel City Pops for an after dinner treat.

This morning started with another Body Pump class followed by a delicious lunch of kale salad with tuna bean salad on two rice cakes.

Healthy Tuna Bean Salad Recipe

1 can cannellini beans

2 cans tuna in water

2 avocados

1/4 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon spicy mustard

Directions: Mix beans, tuna and avocado together.  Whisk dressing together and pour over tuna mixture.  Serve on a salad, rice cake, or just eat it straight from the bowl!  Enjoy!

I am currently sipping on a homemade iced coffee while I talk to you!  Loving iced coffees lately… just coffee, unsweetened almond milk, and liquid dark chocolate stevia for some sweetness.

  1. What did you do this weekend?
  2. Do you like your coffee hot or cold?
  3. What are you having for lunch today?

Weekend Recap 4.12.16 and 7 years!

Hi ya’ll!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  Mine started on quite a yucky note when I started feeling sick on Sunday afternoon and was up sick all Sunday night and still felt icky yesterday.  I am on the mend and slowly starting to feel better so let’s just hope this passes quickly!

Since I was out of commission yesterday, I will recap my weekend today!

Well for starters, I lightened my hair last week.  I usually dye it about twice a year, but it has been probably 2 years since I last dyed it.  Yes, I do it myself.  I am way too cheap to get it done professionally and I don’t have the time to keep it up.  I use Revlon Frost and Glow for medium to dark hair.  I follow Jessie James Decker’s youtube video on how to do at-home highlights.  It is so simple and so cheap and since it is the balayage look, you can go for months without doing it again.

Saturday afternoon we had plans to deep clean our boat to get it ready for the season!!  I got stuck with all the dirty work. 😉 This made us both super excited for warm weather!!  We are hoping to sneak in a little lake time next weekend with some family that is coming in town!

My hubs got me a treat for being such a good helper. 😉

This boy has been giving me lots of cuddles to help me feel better.  He always knows when I need a little extra lovin!

These two… always up to no good. 🙂

We had lots of doggies at our house this weekend, which is always fun… and crazy!  Lots of dog park fun!

And nap time at home!

I just had to show you guys this beautiful sunrise I caught at work last week!  So hard to get up to early, but pretty amazing to see views like this.

Saturday night my husband and I had plans for a fun date night to celebrate his upcoming birthday and our 7th (!!!) dating anniversary!  The pups were not thrilled about us leaving…

My husband said that once you are married, you don’t celebrate your dating anniversary anymore… I told him he didn’t have to buy me any diamonds so then he happily agreed to date night. 😉  We went to Vickery Park for a drink before our dinner reservations.

We went to Hibiscus for dinner.  We have been once before and it was delicious.  My mother-in-law got us a gift card for Christmas so we decided this was the perfect occasion to use it!  Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything and we told her it was my husband’s birthday and our anniversary and she brought us champagne to toast!  It was such a nice treat!

We ordered a couple more drinks and got the mussels (it was a special of the night) for an appetizer.  Soo good!

For our entrees, I got the sea scallops and my husband got the pork.

Our waitress asked if we wanted dessert, but we both declined because we were so full.  And then she brought this out…

We had such a fun night out together and I can’t believe this guy has put up with me for 7 years!  I’m a lucky girl. 🙂

  1. Are you in a relationship? How long have you been together?
  2. If you are married, do you still celebrate your dating anniversary?
  3. What is your idea of the perfect date night?
