Weekend Recap 2.5.18… Girls Night, Baking, Baby Shower, Night Out and Super Bowl Party

Hey friends!! How are you all doing?  Did you have trouble waking up today after the Super Bowl like me?  Mondays always come a little too quickly, but especially after a later than usual bedtime.

How was your weekend?  Ours was pretty packed with lots of activities on the agenda!

My husband takes Callie to work most days of the week (Riley wants to play constantly so doesn’t get to go as often) and last week he sent me this snapchat of Callie.  This is her chair and she only leaves it to go outside. 😉

Last week my husband and I finished up a new house project that I have been wanting for awhile.  We made this ladder shelf for our master bathroom.  I think it turned out pretty well!

I have been trying to take more epsom salt baths because my back has been feeling pretty miserable lately.  Now we have all the bath essentials out and ready for use! I got most of them at World Market.  That store is dangerous!

Friday night my girlfriends, Rachael and Bridget, came over for a girls night with drinks and appetizers!  We had a blast just catching up and laughing for a few hours.   Girl time is good for the soul!

Saturday morning began bright and early with a tabata workout with my momma at 7am!  We were both dying by the end!! Afterwards we tested out a new breakfast cookie recipe that we have been wanting to try!

IMG_7615

The recipe calls for one big cookie, but we decided to quadruple it and make them into small, snack-size cookies!  They contain gf oats, vanilla, extract, unsweetened coconut flakes, almonds, dark chocolate chips, almond butter and cocoa powder.  They are pretty tasty!  We individually wrapped them up and stuck them in the freezer for an easy, yummy snack!

After a our workout and baking, I got cleaned up and headed to my friend Dana’s baby shower!

IMG_7616

She is expecting a sweet little baby boy early this summer so it was fun to see all the baby boy details!

The host had us play a few fun games like matching baby phrases to candy bar names, matching animals to the baby animal name, finishing nursery rhymes, and finishing the phrase that mommy is thinking.  It was super fun!

Love this sweet friend of mine and had a blast showering her and her baby boy with all the cute baby things!!  Such a special day!

On Saturday evening we had plans for dinner and a party with some of our friends.  We decided on Nickys Coal Fired  for dinner.

IMG_7626

I decided on two veggie appetizers for my meal and they did not disappoint!  I got the cauliflower dish and the squash dish and both were equally decadent and delicious!

The whole group!  We laughed after seeing this picture with the chefs in the background. 😉

IMG_7633

After dinner we headed to a nearby warehouse for a big birthday celebration for a handful of friends.  Rachael and I had actually been to a few parties here in high school (sorry, mom!) so it was hilarious to think about the good ole days.  The boys got in a few games of beer pong, there was a dj, a fog machine, and a bunch of 30 year olds partying like we were still in high school.  It was a blast!

IMG_7629

On Sunday we slept in, took the dogs on a nice long walk, worked out and then began prepping for our little Super Bowl Party with friends and family.  We made a white bean dip, baked brie, smoked salmon platter, football cupcakes, a 7 layer dip, cheddar cheese stuffed bread bites, deviled eggs, veggies and more!

IMG_7637

Our friends brought vegan nachoes, another cheesy dip, and pizza bread!  I made this edamame salad, but subbed lima beans for the edamame and it was a big hit!  We had to have at least one healthy dish. 😉

IMG_7638

Our friends, Rachael, Eric, Boomer, and Katelin came… along with my dad, mom, stepdad, and Rachael’s parents.  It was a fun group!

IMG_7648

And ofcourse all the pups made an appearance!  Even little Cooper, Rachael and Eric’s pup, got to join the party!

IMG_7647

Sweet babies!

IMG_7649

Although none of us really cared about either team, we had fun watching the game and the commercials.  I heard a rumor that it now costs $5 million for 30 seconds of advertising during the Super Bowl.  I remember when it cost $1 million for 30 seconds of advertising and thinking that was insane.  How crazy is that?!?!

IMG_7641

My momma sneaking snacks to the pups. 🙂

IMG_7639

During half time we headed upstairs to watch Justin Timberlake’s performance and get in a few games of ping pong.  I actually beat my mom for the first time ever!  She is really good!!

IMG_7642

Sweet Callie girl enjoyed people watching and snuggling with anyone who would pet her. 🙂

This weekend was full of fun with family and friends and that is the perfect weekend to me!  I love living near family and getting to hang out with them regularly.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!  I would love to hear about your weekend in the comments!! xoxoxo

Questions:

  1. How was your weekend? What did you do?

Weekend Recap 2.6.17… Lots of Sports!

Hey guys!  How was your weekend?  This weekend flew by for me, but I will say that I am excited this week has begun because my husband has been out of town since last Wednesday and I am ready for him to come home!  He will be home tomorrow so needless to say, the dogs and I are just a little excited!  He goes on an annual boys ski trip with a few guys from college and now that we live so far from the mountains, I know how much he looks forward to it each year.  They go to a different ski town each year and this year they went to Sun Valley, Idaho.

While the boys are out west freezing,  we are here in Nashville, also freezing!!!!  It has been quite chilly around here.  Thursday night, my dad, brother, and I went to the Predators game.  They won 2 to 0!  It was a great game! We went to the giftshop and had to model some Preds hats. 🙂

I love this kiddo!

This breakfast is still on repeat around here.  I love switching up the toppings each day.  My favorites are strawberries, blueberries, bananas, peanut butter, almond butter, and shredded coconut.

So earlier in the week, I came home from work to find my slippers in a different place than I left them.  I always put them in the same place so I know where they are.  Well, Friday when I came home from work, I found both slippers on the bed.  On Saturday I found one on the bed and one by my laundry basket.  There is a little slipper thief in my house right now… The funny thing is that I really don’t know which dog did it.  I would assume Riley because he likes toys, but these slippers are a little heavy so I am not sure if he could/would have put them on the bed…but Callie doesn’t like toys/picking up anything soo I would be shocked if it was her.  I really want to put a camera on and leave it in my room while I am at work to see who is moving my slippers!!  It has become like a game when I come home and have to search for my slippers each day. 🙂

img_4640

Friday night we went to dinner at Carrabbas and I got a delicious salad with shrimp and this kid got spaghetti!

My friend Rachael and I hit up an 8 am Body Pump class on Saturday morning!  It was a struggle to get up early on a Saturday, but it was so nice to get a workout in early.

img_4642

After our workout, we went food shopping and spent a few hours baking (!!!) some yummy recipes.  I will share them all with you later this week!

Once I got home, my dad, brother, and I took the pups on a long walk to the park.  They were in heaven.  Afterwards, I had plans to go meet up with Rachael and some friends, but wasn’t feeling the best so opted for some rest.

img_4661

A few hours later we headed to Target for a few things… well, you know how that goes.  It ended with a new wardrobe for my favorite little guy.  He will definitely be the most styling little 9 year old on the block. 😉

img_4648

Saturday night we cooked some dinner and watched the Predators game (they lost).  Sunday morning I took the dogs on a quick walk before I did some yoga with my dad and brother at home.  We are all working on our flexibility.  🙂

Afterwards I worked on some meal prepping for the week.  I made a overnight oats, salads, hard boiled eggs, and washed and chopped fruit and veggies.

img_4657

img_4658

After lunch we took a walk in the park.  It was 60 in Nashville yesterday!

img_4668img_4664img_4663

Then we came home and got ready for our Super Bowl party!

img_4672

My little brother loves to entertain and make decorations for parties.  Even though it was only 5 of us at our “party” he wanted to make little flags for our food.  How cute are these?  Straws, scrapbook paper, and cut out logos of each team.

The dogs are loving my little brother.  So adorable. 🙂

Weekend Recap 2.8.16

Hi guys!!! Happy Monday!  I hope you had a really nice weekend!  Ours was relaxing, productive and really fun!  We attended a boat show, got our new light fixture installed, took lots of walks, cleaned the whole house and watched the super bowl with my sister and her boyfriend.  Such a great weekend!

——————————————————————–

I took quite a lot of pictures this weekend so I may have to break this post up into two parts!  Here we go!

Saturday afternoon my husband and I headed downtown to the boat show.  I was not very excited beforehand, but actually ended up really enjoying it.  Last year we bought a boat so I think actually having a boat made the experience more fun for me.

SO thrilled on the way to the boat show.

I love the sparkly color of this one!

I made him pose for me.

IMG_8299

Uh, turn your head to the side.

IMG_8300

Then we checked out some boats that had fully stocked kitchens on them!

And some yachts that are nicer than our house. 🙂

I love the additions of the grills on these boats.  Nothing beats grilling out in the summertime!

“Smile!”  This is what I get…

Finally!

The yachts had some really nice rooms below!

I wouldn’t mind sleeping here.

Or here.

Or on this comfy looking bed.

IMG_8310

And ofcourse, I found the one dog at the boat show.   The fire hydrant is his little perch.  He would come say hi then run back over to his hydrant and jump up on it and just hang out there.

I really need this doggie.

IMG_8298

We are not in the market for a new boat, but we did meet a lot of nice people when discussing adding more speakers to our boat and adding to our collection of water toys (my husband love to wakeboard… I like to float on a raft with a drink in my hand).  😉

This is a little flotation device you sit on while hanging out in the water.  Kinda neat!

IMG_8295

The rest of our Sunday consisted of shopping at Trader Joes for some Super Bowl snacks.  We just watched the game at home with my sister and her boyfriend and all the pups.  We had lots of yummy snacks, but I just snapped a picture of a few!

I think I have rambled on enough for today so I’ll be back tomorrow for some more pictures from our weekend!  Have a great week, everyone!!

Questions:

  1. Did you watch the Super Bowl?
  2. Did you like the halftime show?
  3. What was your favorite commercial?
