Saturday Rambles

Happy Saturday guys!  How is your weekend going so far?  Ours is off to a good start as we spent our Friday night binge watching the new season of House of Cards!

————————————————————————-

Wednesday afternoon I was dreading my run, but knew I’d feel so much better if I just did it.  I told myself I only had to run 3 miles, but thankfully, when I got going, I got into a groove and just kept going.  Sometimes my OCD/perfectionist mind comes in handy and I made it to 5 miles versus stopping at 4.  (I don’t know why, but it is hard for me to stop at 4.  I like 3 or 5 better… I know, I am weird.)

This beauty has been on repeat in my house this whole week.  Spinach, flaxseed, banana, coconut water, and frozen mango.  Can’t get enough.

IMG_8743

We are watching the sweetest pup right now.  Her name is Scotch and she is 14 years old (!!!) but doing so well!  She is just a darling.

IMG_8741

And completely unrelated to Scotch, this is Simmonds.  Simmonds is 5 and is the cutest thing ever.  He just loves some lovin’.

Finally pulled out my juicer this week.  I absolutely love fresh juice, but hate the prep of washing the veggies, cutting them and then there is the cleanup… that is the real pain.   Each time I do use my juicer, I make sure to make a lot!  This one included: carrots, ginger, lemon, apple, and orange.  It was delicious!  I also made another one with kale, cucumber, ginger, lemon, and oranges.

I could eat this salad for lunch every day!  It had kale, romaine, almonds, craisins, strawberries, veggie burger and avocado.  Hit the spot!

IMG_8733

That’s all I’ve got for today!  I am off to a body pump class and then we are hoping to take a little cruise on our boat because the weather is SO nice today!  Enjoy your Saturday!

Questions:

  1. What is your favorite juice recipe?
  2. Do you like fruit on your salads?
  3. Do you watch House of Cards?

Friday fun!

Good morning!! It’s Friday at last!  I hope you all had a good week and have an even better weekend!  I am so excited as we have a little trip planned with my in-laws.  I’ll be sure to check in during our time away! I will keep the words short today as I have lots of work to do and lots of packing!

Delicious smoothie of spinach, flaxseed, organe juice, banana, frozen berries, and pineapple.

IMG_7894

The most delicious salad with grilled salmon on top (I just grilled the salmon on my stovetop grill pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper).

You guys know I can’t have a meal without my sweet potato fries 😉

IMG_7882

Just another way I’m using up my leftovers.  Brown rice with sauteed mushrooms, onions, and garlic topped with a veggie burger and avocado.  Heavenly.

Guys, the food hoarder is still in full force.  She is so ridiculous.

Butterball is back!

IMG_7908

Butterball loves Bruce.

Bruce is so over it.

IMG_7885

Bruce loves his walks!

Dog park fun to run these pups!

My nephew, Otis and some shadows.  Don’t be fooled by his innocent face… he had all the dogs chasing him in circles at the park.  He is the ring leader. 🙂

Riley and Callie are too scared to join the pack.

Bruce and Otis.

Have a great Friday and an awesome weekend everyone!  I will see you soon from Florida with pictures from our trip!  I know you will miss all the doggie pictures, but the pups have to stay behind with their aunt, uncle, and cousin, Otis.  😉

Questions:

  1. Do you like salmon?
  2. Favorite way to cook sweet potatoes?
  3. Tell me what you are looking forward to doing this weekend!

Weekend Recap 1.18.16

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  We had quite the eventful weekend with a lot of relaxation thrown in as well.  It was amazing.  I just got back from a 6AM body pump class, which is always a great start to my week!  I’ll leave you with some pictures from our fun weekend!

————————————————————————–

Sunday started with a big green smoothie with spinach, flax seeds, banana, frozen mango, pineapple, grapes, strawberries, and coconut water.

Yum!

And two rice cakes, with avocado and eggs on top (salt, pepper, and chili powder) a little later!

Ralph and Kalie sitting with my sister! too cute!

They love her!

Sunday we went downtown to go up Reunion Tower that oversees the entire city.

The ball has lights on the outside that light up for different holidays and sporting events in Dallas.

Me and the hubs.

Us and my brother-in-law.

The architecture inside the building was really neat!

The views from the observation deck at the top were pretty great.  (I wanted to walk up it, but you have to ride an elevator.. so much for those extra steps!)

IMG_7611

It’s a little hard to tell in the picture, but at the Omni hotel in the distance (the darker building), there were people swimming in the rooftop pool (let’s hope it was heated).

You can walk all the way around the sphere and see all angles of the city.

You can’t really see us, but the view is pretty great!

And again.

Inside you could play on these screens and we had fun trying to find our neighborhood.

Lots to do today!  Let’s make this Monday a good one!! Have a great week!

Questions:

  1. What did you do this weekend?
  2. Did you have any yummy meals?
  3. Do you have to work today or do you get the holiday off?

Happy New Years Eve!

It’s Thursday!! Woo!! Definitely feels like a Friday to me with no work tomorrow!  I like it!

———————————————————-

Let’s get to it!  More fun from Nashville because I just can’t get over how much fun we had and I like to pretend I am still there just hanging with the fam 🙂  I promise I will post present day pictures in the near future 😉

My husband sent me this picture that he took from his new drone the other day… okay now I think the thing is pretty cool 🙂

So my dad just renovated his house this year and it is gorgeous.  His house has a large finished basement that was not really being used a lot.  Well, that has changed.  He separated the basement a bit and created a makeshift hockey rink for my little brother (he is obsessed with all things hockey) so needless to say, there were a lot of hockey games played over the last week! SO many laughs and good times!!

Riley and I like to spectate 😉  He gets bored easily.

We also got in a few games of pool… let’s just say, Jon and I need to work on our pool skills 🙂

I even got a few workouts in on my dad’s elliptical machine… with my body guard by my side at all times 🙂

Yeah…. don’t think that calorie count is quite accurate…

IMG_7060

My little brother wanted to show me that he could do it too. So strong!

Another yummy smoothie made by my dad (spinach, orange juice, frozen berries, banana, and pineapple) and chopped pineapple and melon!

Riley waiting for me to drop some crumbs for him 😉

IMG_7043

Hyper—–>exhausted.

He just couldn’t hang.

Sweaty spikey hair after a lot of dancing.  Fun fact: my brother knows the whole “whip nae nae” dance and is amazing at it.  He gave us all lessons.  I am still lost.

IMG_7082

We all needed a nap after the dance lesson 🙂

IMG_7030

Tuesday my mom took us out to lunch at Taco Mamacita and it was soo yummy!  We split and appetizer platter first then all had small entrees (So good!).  Forgot to take pictures, but give this place a try if you are in the Nashville area.

Saying goodbye to my sweet Rayray.

IMG_7065

Can’t you just move to Dallas? 😉

IMG_7066

Okay, I think that actually wraps up my time in Nashville.  Until next time…

Have a very fun and safe new year’s eve and a very happy new year!!  I will see you all in 2016!!

Questions:

  1. Do you workout on vacation/during the holidays?
  2. Are you good at pool?
  3. What are your plans tonight?!?
