Tuesday Talks and The Biggest Thank You Ever

Hi friends!  I hadn’t planned on posting today, but I just couldn’t help myself after the response to yesterday’s post.  To put it simply, I am completely blown away.  I know I have a great support system around me, but wow.  I cannot say thank you enough for all the sweet messages, thoughts, and prayers from all of you.  I am beyond grateful.

I am still at home resting this week and have been feeling mostly good with a few stomach pains and some nausea at night.  I have another doctor appointment today with a GI specialist so I am hoping for more answers.

In the mean time, I’ve been staring at all these beautiful flowers.  Fresh flowers just make me smile.

IMG_8368

My sweet sister left this morning and I’m already missing her.  She is such a good caretaker and was by my side all weekend.  I was so happy she was able to go to the Preds game with my dad on Sunday so she could enjoy her visit a bit.  And the bonus is that they won in double overtime!  Can’t wait to watch the next game tonight! Go Preds!!

IMG_8370

I happily watched from my bed. 🙂

IMG_8373

You know the honey I mentioned in my last post?  Well my momma brought me a jar!!  It is the best honey I have ever tasted.

IMG_8376

Monday morning I woke up feeling pretty good so my mom, sister, and I walked to grab a coffee.  It is one of the few things I can drink/eat right now.  It tasted heavenly.

IMG_8377

When my mom comes over, there is ALWAYS pingpong involved.  Who will be her next competitor? 😉

IMG_8379

It has been very difficult for me to rest at home.  I can always think of things that need to be done.  Monday I mopped, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned mirrors, etc.  Today I am relaxing per my doctor’s orders.  On Monday afternoon my sister and I went to my dad’s to relax in the hot tub for a bit before heading to my little brother’s hockey game.  He was really excited to see my sister and see me out of the hospital.  He told me he was SO glad I was laying down in the hospital anymore. 😉  Sweetest boy ever.

IMG_8382

Now it is time to go rest up before my doctor appointment today.  I will keep you all updated.  And once again, I am just so thankful for all my friends (internet blogging friends too!) and family.  Have a great day, friends!!

Weekend Recap 2.26.18 Yummy Food, A Birthday Celebration and A Hockey Game

Hey Friends!!!! Happy Monday!! A new week, a new chance for a fresh start!  I am headed out of town today for work, but wanted to get my weekly weekend recap up before then!  I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend.  Mine was really nice with lots of down time and a few fun plans with friends.

Ya’ll I have a new obsession.  I am LOVING taking baths after a long day.  I have never been a bath person because I usually am in and out of the shower quickly and it just seems like a task sometimes rather than a relaxing experience.  But ever since my doctor told me that I need to be taking a few epsom salt baths a week for my back, I have a new found love for baths.  I may have overdone it on the bubbles… 😉

IMG_7761

On Thursday night neither my husband or I felt like cooking so we got take out from Eastern Peak, one of our favorite take out places. I got the avocado and shrimp salad and it was delicious as always!

IMG_7773

On Friday night we met up with some friends that were in town for a drink during happy hour.  Afterwards we came home and called it an early night.  We didn’t have anything on the agenda for most of Saturday, which was nice.  So this is what most of our Saturday looked like.  My husband and I were both exhausted and did a lot of lounging around all day with our pups.  It was heavenly.

IMG_7780

On Saturday night we had plans for dinner downtown and then meeting up with our friends to celebrate a 30th birthday!  I asked my husband to take the picture on the left because this is one of the dresses my sister gave to me when we cleaned our her closet in Dallas.  Then when we were walking to dinner I realized that not only was the dress from my sister, but so was the jacket and the purse.  (Thanks Morg!!!)

For dinner my husband and I tried out City Tap House downtown.

IMG_7782

We both started with a drink!

Right before this picture my husband said, “I don’t like being an instagram husband.”  hahah Then he said, “this is my I don’t really want to take a picture with my beer face.”  Men…… 🙂

IMG_7783

We split the crispy brussels sprouts for an app and were fighting over the last bite!  They had pomegrante seeds and a miso dressing that made them so freaking tasty.  My husband got the goat cheese pizza and I got the ahi tuna that came with a quinoa seaweed salad and a shrimp salsa on top.  Yum!

After dinner we headed out to the middle of nowhere to meet up with our friends at The Old School to celebrate our friend, Liz’s 30th birthday!!  Casey, Rachael and I had a blast catching up.  Liz is my bestie, Rachael’s sister.  Happy Birthday, Liz!!

IMG_0097

I thought this outtake of me being a diva was quite hilarious. 😉  We sure do love our friends!

IMG_0098

Sunday morning started bright and early with a workout before we headed to meet our friends for brunch before the Preds game.  The Preds game was at 11am, which is very unusual and while I like to have my Sundays to catch up and get ready for the week, it was nice to not be out late for a Sunday night game.

IMG_7793

We won 4 to 0!!!! Gooooo Preds!

IMG_7790

After the game we went grocery shopping, did dishes, did a load of laundry, made soup for the week, took a long dog walk, and got ready for the week ahead.

Alright friends it is time to get this new week started!!  I hope you guys have a great week and an easy Monday.  xoxoxo

Questions:

  1. Highlight of your weekend?
  2. Favorite restaurant for brunch?
  3. Favorite birthday you have ever had?

Life Lately… Random Thoughts and Ramblings :)

Hey friends!!! I’m backkkk!  3 blog posts in one week?  Who am I?? 😉 . I can’t believe I used to blog every.single.day.  I don’t have quite the amount of free time I used to have when I was only working part time in Dallas.  These days I swear I would forget my head if it wasn’t attached to my body. 😉 . But you know what?  Life is SO GOOD!!! And I like being busy.  I don’t like feeling overwhelmed, but I do like keeping busy with a routine/schedule.  I’m not very good at doing nothing so being busy is good for me.  I am trying hard to keep up with my regular Monday posts, but I hope to continually add in another blog post or two throughout the week depending on if I have time and if I have something to chat about!  I am all about quality over quantity when it comes to blog posts.

This post is going to be a bit all over the place, but I have a lot of photos on my phone that I have been meaning to share with you so today is the day.

We picked up a box of these individual green curry meals from Costco.  My husband loves them; I haven’t tried them yet, but they look yummy!  Have you guys tried these?

IMG_7715

A couple weekends ago my mom was over and taking a phone call.  Riley always has to sit on her lap.  He just loves her…. probably because she spoils him rotten!! 😉

IMG_7719

I saw this on instagram the other day and laughed out loud.  I used to love these little sweethearts as a kid, but now that I think about it, they do kind of taste like tums. 🙂

IMG_7725

Just another outfit formed my my sister’s clothes she gave me.  The shirt and jacket were hers and were perfect for a day at work.  I don’t know about you, but I get in such a clothing rut when it comes to work clothes.  I end up wearing the same things over and over so it is really nice to have some new pieces to switch it up a bit.

IMG_7726

My husband had off work the other day and asked me to leave him a list of chores.  He snapchatted me this to prove that he actually did vacuum. 🙂  Too funny.

IMG_7728

I asked my husband to take the dogs on a walk the other day before we went to a meeting and he sent me these snaps for proof.  LOL.  Occasionally when I ask him to take the dogs on a walk he will just let them run around in the yard so he knew he needed to show me proof that he actually walked them.  Little Riley is not good about going potty unless he is on a walk.  For some reason he just doesn’t like to go in our yard.  I think he just holds it so he can get more walks.  He is a smart one. 😉

Monday night we went to the Predators game with my husband’s coworkers and we ran into Nash!!

IMG_0076

It has been a busy week with commitments after work each night, but that hasn’t stopped me from getting in my nightly walk on my treadmill.  I workout in the mornings before work, but lately I have been feeling the need to do a little more activity since my job keeps me pretty sedentary for most of the day.  A few times per week, I am getting in a long walk on my treadmill after work while catching up on my shows.  I walk between 4.0-4.5 and increase the incline every couple of minutes all the way up to a 10% incline then I start decreasing.  I usually walk between 2 and 4 miles depending on how much time I have and how I am feeling.  I work up a good sweat and have regularly been hitting my step goal of 10,000 steps each day when I add this extra walk into my day.  Once it gets nicer outside I will take my nightly walks outside with my doggies.  Did ya’ll notice the dog toys by my treadmill?  Riley is relentless.  He wants to play ALL DAY LONG.  🙂 . He is just so cute that he often has me jumping on and off the treadmill to play fetch with him.

IMG_7759

Well that is all for today friends!!  I am off to get ready for the day and give my puppies some love before work.  I hope you all have an amazing day!!!!!

Questions:

  1. Do you have a step tracker?  What is your daily goal?  How often do you hit your goal?
  2. Favorite quick go-to meal?
  3. If you have a dog, how often do you walk your pup?

Better Late Than Never Weekend Recap 11.19.17

Hi there!  How was your Thanksgiving weekend?  Ours was wonderful!  We spent Thanksgiving in Indianapolis with my in-laws and had a great time!  I am working on a recap of our time in Indy, but in the mean time I am going to share pictures from the previous weekend.

My mom and I decided that our small gift to neighbors, friends, family and coworkers (my husband’s and mine) would be homemade Christmas cookies this year.  So we picked a couple Saturdays to put on the books for cooking baking!

We started last weekend and got about halfway done. 🙂

IMG_7179

Riley was waiting for the scraps. 😉

IMG_7190

This time of year really makes me miss my granny.  She and my mom baked Christmas cookies every year.  We still use a lot of her recipes with her precious handwriting.  I am so lucky to be able to carry on the tradition with my momma.

IMG_7192

Riley and I worked on putting together all of the boxes for the cookies.  It was no easy task. 😉

We made sure to shop for our in-laws early this year so we didn’t have to ship gifts.  That prompted me to shop for everyone so I started the wrapping last weekend too.  It sure is nice to get Christmas shopping done early so we can just enjoy the holiday season.

IMG_7182

We still have our pumpkins on our front porch, but we started decorating inside just a bit.  This will be the first year we have not had to travel for Christmas (we will be with my family for Christmas and since they live in Nashville we don’t have to travel to see them).  My sister and her boyfriend will come from Dallas with their two pups for the holiday and I can’t wait!!

My mom and I did lots of shopping for Christmas decorations last weekend (I can’t wait to shop you guys all of them once they are up!) and that included lots of lights!! I spent the rest of the weekend doing this…

IMG_7185

We took a little break from baking and decorating to go to Costco with my mom so we could get a membership!  We had one back when we lived in Cincinnati, but since then there has not been a convenient store location.  Thanks mom!

IMG_7188

Last Monday we tried a new-to-us restaurant called Whiskey Kitchen.  We had heard great things but just hadn’t had a chance to go.

I got the salmon that came with a yummy salad and green beans.  My husband got the fried tomato BLT and loved it too!

IMG_7200

After dinner we headed downtown for the Predators game.  They won! woo!!  A little date night on a Monday night is definitely a nice way to start the week!

That is all for today!  I will pop back in later this week to share pictures from our Thanksgiving!! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Questions:

  1. How was your Thanksgiving?
  2. Have you started shopping for the holidays?
  3. Do you do any annual baking during the holidays?

A Sweet Little Date Night to Break Up the Week

Hey friends!!! How was your weekend?  Mine was so wonderful and I will get more into that with a weekend recap later this week!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes it feels like the work week is never ending.  I am not one to have a ton of plans during the week (I like my time to relax with a book or a good show), but sometimes a night out during the week is good for the soul.

My husband and I were debating buying a season ticket package for the Nashville Predators this year and we ended up going for it.  I look at it as pre-planned date nights that break up the monotony of the work week.

On Thursday night we headed to a new sushi restaurant on the way to downtown for a quick dinner before the game. Thursday nights call for a some cocktails!

We got a few rolls to try… can you tell which ones are mine?  🙂 I loved that this sushi restaurant offered the option of brown rice rolls instead of white rice.

IMG_6889

We were a little worried when the Dallas Stars scored pretty quickly into the first period.

IMG_6890

But in true Predators fashion…. we came back and won the game!

IMG_6893

We also ran into my favorite kiddo.  I just love my baby bro!

We met up with him during both intermissions and watched him shoot some goals!

We left the game pretty happy!

IMG_6911

Boy do I have a story for you guys.  My husband (bless his heart) loves public transportation.  I mean don’t get me wrong, I love it in cities like New York and Chicago, but Nashville does not have great options so we usually just Uber everywhere we go.  Well Thursday night my husband had the bright idea to take the city bus home from the game.  We wait for about 20 minutes (we realized they only come every 30 minutes later in the evening and ended up running down the street after it to make it stop.  😉  We fought over who got to pull the cord to signal our stop, but we did finally make it home a little later. 🙂

IMG_6909

I just have to show you guys these pictures of my cousin’s little boy.  My mom spent the week in Long Island with my aunt, cousin, her husband and their precious baby boy.  I hope my mom got out all of her baby fever while she was there. 😉

Questions:

  1. If you have kids, how many do you have?
  2. What is your favorite date night activity?
  3. Since Halloween is later this month, what is your favorite type of candy?

Weekend Recap 6.6.17 … A Very Special Birthday and The Predators are in the Stanley Cup!!!

Hey guys!  I am spending the morning trying to play catch up with my pictures/blog from the past couple weeks.  I swear I will find a normal blogging routine one of these days.  We haven’t quite set a new routine after moving and have had so much going on in the evenings that it has been hard to find time to blog.

This was me last weekend sanding and painting an old table my mom had.  We need something to fill up the space in a corner of our living room and wanted it to match everything else.  One we get the house completely together I will show you it’s place.  We are having a housewarming party in a couple weeks so we are moving right along with finding a place for everything.  I love having a deadline to get our house ready or else we may have been living out of boxes for a little too long.

This was us watching one of the last Predators games at a bar.  But this last weekend, I got to watch the Stanley Cup in person!!

IMG_5625

Before the game on Saturday, we headed out to Old Hickory Lake to celebrate my best friend, Rachael’s birthday.  She rented two pontoon boats for 30 of us.  It was such a blast!  Happy 27th birthday Rach!!

IMG_5652

She may have had to be rescued after that picture. 😉

IMG_5660

This guy was in his happy place.

IMG_5666

After a few hours on the lake, we got dropped off to get ready for the game.

IMG_5670

We hurried home and met up with my dad then the 3 of us headed downtown.  It was crazy downtown!! If you haven’t seen the pictures on the news, you should look them up!! Nashville really rallied together to support the Preds!!  It is days like Saturday that make me LOVE Nashville and all the people here.

IMG_5667

We cut the end of the Alan Jackson concert then dropped my husband off to meet up with some friends.  Then my dad and I headed to the arena!

IMG_5672

We got these light up bracelets in our seats and I hadn’t seen them before.  My dad told me I had to put it on and I soon found out why!  The whole stadium lit up to the music at the beginning of the game.

IMG_5678

The bracelets lit up different colors and different levels of the arena would light up at different times.  It was truly beautiful.  The pictures definitely don’t do it justice, but I did get a couple videos that I posted to my youtube if you want to see!

IMG_5675

The place was packed and we barely sat down the entire time!!

We got a little nervous when the Penguins scored in the first 3 minutes of the game, but thankfully the Preds were able to pull it together and ended up winning 5 to 1!!!! It was so incredible to experience the crowd going nuts and all the support behind the Preds!

It was a madhouse downtown after the game!!

IMG_5709

We went and met up with my husband and some friends for a drink while we waited for the uber prices to go down a bit. 🙂

IMG_5710

I am pretty excited to watch the game tonight!!!  Go PREDS!!

Questions:

  1. Are you a hockey fan?
  2. Have you ever been to a Stanley Cup game?

Sports!! We Just Can’t Get Enough!

Hi friends!! Happy Friday!!  Hallelujah, the weekend is here! It has come at the perfect time because I am in need of a little break.   What about you guys?  How has your week been so far?  I got off work a little early yesterday and thought I would go home and finish getting our house organized… I was so wrong.  I went home to take a quick “nap” before attempting some cleaning and awoke 4 hours later.  I got up and ate dinner and watched the Preds game 😦 then went back to sleep a couple hours later and slept straight through the night.  I guess my body just really needed the rest.  I am feeling well-rested and ready for a nice weekend.

As you all know by now, my family is really into sports.  I grew up going to Titans games, Predators games, minor league baseball games, MLB spring training, the list goes on and on.  As much as I like attending sporting events, I am definitely not the athlete of the family.  I grew up playing soccer, softball, basketball, swimming, and cross country, but truly, I was never really good at any of them (and I didn’t really care ;)).  I played sports for the social aspect and the exercise aspect… definitely not the competitive aspect.  My sister was the pro soccer player and my little brother is the pro hockey player… you do not want to be in the car with them after they lose a game. 😉

Anyway.. the last few weeks have been filled with lots of sporting events so I thought I would show you a few!

My dad and I went to Bricktops for a quick dinner before the Predators game.  I got a delicious spicy tuna roll and a kale and quinoa side salad.

IMG_5453

This was the second round of the playoffs… I will say the playoffs were a whole new experience compared to regular season games… the crowd was standing almost the entire game.  It was reallly fun!

IMG_5458

My and my sweet daddy!

IMG_5463

Nashville’s minor league baseball team, the Nashville Sounds, opened a new stadium recently and we hadn’t been yet.  My husband had a tennis match he couldn’t miss so I took my mother-in-law, my dad, and my little brother last Thursday.

IMG_5477

The weather was just perfect!  This little boy LOVES getting pictures with the mascots.  My dad joked that we could make a whole book of pictures with my little brother and mascots from teams around the country.

IMG_8186

Reba, Johnny Cash and George Jones decided to show up too. 😉

IMG_5475

After a few innings, this little dude got bored so we walked around and decided to play mini golf.  They have a little course in the stadium, which is really nice for families with kiddos who can’t sit still for an entire baseball game.

IMG_5479

Each hole was uniquely designed.. this guitar shaped one was my favorite!

IMG_5484

As my dad always said growing up, “It’s a beautiful day for baseball!”  And last Thursday it sure was!

IMG_5486

Riley wants you guys to know that he is rooting for the Preds to win the Stanley cup… that game last night was a little hard to watch, but I am glad we at least made it to overtime.

IMG_8197

Thank you for letting me ramble on and on about how much my family just loves sports.  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!! See you guys next week!!

Questions:

  1. Did you play any sports growing up?
  2. What professional sport do you watch/attend games most often?
  3. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Weekend Recap 3.26.17 … House News, A Comedy Show, A Migraine, and Yummy Food

Good morning friends!!  How was your weekend?  I could definitely use an extra day as I was a little under the weather for most of Saturday.  I had a terrible migraine that was so intense if I was not laying down in a dark room.  😦  I am feeling much better now so I am happy about that!

Last week, my husband and I went to the Predator’s game on Monday night.  We grabbed an early dinner at Amerigos before the game.

We won!!!  I always tell my dad and husband that I am good luck and so far that year that has been pretty accurate. 😉

My week was pretty uneventful… this is what the weather in Nashville looked like a few days last week and the forecast is calling for more rain.  😦

IMG_5018

We were able to go do a little house hunting last week and we found one we really like and are officially under contract!!  It is new construction so we are hoping there won’t be any issues with the inspection (fingers crossed) and we actually got to pick a few of the finishes so that was fun!  We still have about a month before closing so we are hoping nothing goes wrong before then. 🙂 I will show ya’ll pictures once we get all moved in.

One of my easy go-to meals is pan seared salmon, roasted sweet potatoes, and stir-fried veggies with tamari (gluten free soy sauce).  I just used what I had on hand – onions, garlic, zucchini and asparagus.

I always make extras so I can have some for lunch or dinner the next day.

IMG_5026

I walked in on this cute sight the other day and had to snap a picture.  This girl loves her daddy.  🙂

IMG_5032

We got in a couple evening walks this past week.  I am loving how light it is when I get home from work now.

Isn’t nature just beautiful?

IMG_5037

My husband was dying to go back to Kyoto for some sushi so we had a sushi date night on Friday night.  It was amazing as always.

We went to the new house on Saturday morning with the builder to go over a couple of things.  They are building a fence around the house for us so we had to explain our vision to them.  After that I spent the next few hours nursing my migraine and trying to sleep it off.  It wasn’t completely gone, but we had plans to go to Zanies comedy club.  We saw Kevin Pollak.  He was pretty funny, but the two openers were better in my opinion.

Sunday we went to show my dad and brother the new house and then did some furniture shopping.  Our new house is almost all hardwood (except the basement) so we are going to need some rugs!  We found quite a few that we like so we will be back to get them soon.

IMG_5058

We also went to a few stores to look at new couches and dining room tables.  My husband is going to build us a farmhouse dining room table, but we wanted to look at a few different options before he starts the process.  These are a couple that we like.

My sweet hubs got me a smoothie for the ride so I didn’t get hangry. 😉

IMG_5059

Last night we did some grilling (salmon for me, chicken for the boys and veggies for all) and it all turned out so yummy.

IMG_5064

Riley loves to sleep under a blanket at the edge of the bed or couch.  Last night was no different. 🙂

IMG_5065

I am up super early to drop my husband off at the airport for a business trip so I better get going!  I hope you all have a great week!!

Questions:

  1. What was the highlight of your weekend?
  2. Have you ever been to a comedy club?
  3. Favorite place to buy furniture?

Weekend Recap 2.27.17… Our First Visitors, Yummy Eats in Nashville, Predators Games and a Lot of Naps

Good Morning everyone!  I hope your week is going well so far!! I am quite aware of how sporadic my blogging has been lately and I sincerely apologize.  I am still trying to figure out how to fit it in my new daily schedule.

I have been super busy with work and trying to navigate through selling our Dallas home from our of the state while continually searching for our new Nashville home.  A little update on both ends… I probably shouldn’t  have spoken so soon with the contract we had on our Dallas home.  The buyer pulled out of the contract on the last day of the option period… It went back on the market last Friday and we actually got another offer on Monday and have come to an agreement with the new buyer.  Fingers crossed this one works out so we can really give our Nashville house hunting 100%.  We have gone to many open houses and toured a few houses in different neighborhoods with our realtor.  We are still pretty torn about exactly where we want to live (errrr…actually I think it is just that my husband and I have different opinions on best locations, new construction versus renovated, big yard versus small yard, etc.  Let’s just say our realtor sure does have her work cut out for her. 😉

Let’s back up to Friday night!  We met our realtor after work to tour a few houses.  Our biggest decision right now is if we want to pay top dollar for beautiful new construction that is basically on top of your neighbor or if we are willing to do some renovations.  I am willing to do cosmetic renovations, but knocking down walls is beyond our expertise. 😉  We have seen quite a few on both ends of the spectrum and Friday night was no different.

Afterwards, we met Jon’s brother and girlfriend at my dad’s house.  They were in town visiting from Des Moines, Iowa for the weekend.  After catching up briefly, we headed to The Yellow Porch for dinner.  They have a very enticing menu, but their specials page always draws me in!

I started off with a delicious beet and arugula salad with goat cheese and candied pecans. 🙂

img_4808

My husband got the mussels and devoured them.

img_4809

For my entree, I got the pan seared corvina.  Oh my gosh, it was simply amazing.  Ahh I want to go back so I can have it again!!!

img_4810

My husband got the stuffed trout and loved his meal as well.

img_4811

After dinner we stopped over at our friend’s house for a bit then called it a night.  On Saturday morning after a quick workout in the basement, my husband and I got to work on some breakfast.  Fresh cut fruit and cinnamon rolls were involved. 🙂

img_4813

After breakfast we bundled up and took the dogs for a long walk in the park.  When we got back, we lounged around for a bit before heading downtown for a late afternoon Predators game!  We may have a little hockey obsession over here.  We had really good seats so that always makes it more fun!

img_4818

Same couple selfie, different Preds game. 😉

img_4819

And heck yes we won!! I think I am good luck. 🙂

img_4820

After dinner we walked over to the Omni hotel because we had dinner reservations at a restaurant located inside called Kitchen Notes.

Oh! I totally forgot to mention about the most exciting thing that happened to me last week!  So I have a Predators jersey from the early 2000s when they had just been around for a little while, but it is in Dallas.  My dad got my husband a jersey for Christmas and I have been borrowing my brother’s jersey when we aren’t going to the game together.  Well… last Friday morning when I was working out in the basement, my brother came down to say bye to me before heading off to school.  He said he had a present for me before he left and he handed me a new Preds jersey that he and my dad had picked up Thursday at the game.  I almost started crying because it was such a sweet gesture.  🙂 🙂 🙂 Here I am on Friday night with my favorite new item of clothing!

img_4834

Once we were seated the waitress brought out a big basket of different types of bread/biscuits and jams/butter.

Okay I just now realized I got a beet and arugula salad two nights in a row.  I think I could probably have it every night now that I think about it.  Any salad with goat cheese and candied pecans will always be a winner in my book.

img_4839

For my entree I chose the salmon with the succotash.  It was so so so yummy!  I saved half of it for lunch the next day and it was just as good as the first time.

img_4841

After dinner we headed to Broadway for a little bar hopping and some live music.

img_4842

We met up with our friend Scott for a bit.  #meanmugging

img_4845

We took my brother-in-law and his girlfriend to a few of the famous spots downtown then called it a night around 11ish.  We are so fun. 🙂

img_4850

Sunday was spent catching up on laundry, doing some cleaning and house projects for my dad, meal prepping, doing stuff for our move, and taking a couple naps.  😉 It is nice to have a little downtime before another week begins!

I promise I will talk to you all before another week goes by!  P.S. I am still reading all of your blogs, but just haven’t had time to comment.  I am going to catch up sooner or later. 🙂

Questions:

  1. How was your weekend?
  2. Would you rather have new construction or a house that needs renovations?
  3. How many jerseys (if any) do you own?

Let’s Go Predators…He’s a True Fan Now

Good morning!!  I hope your weekend is off to a good start!  It is unusual for me to post on a Saturday these days, but I was busy running around all over town yesterday that this post just never got finished.  I hope you all had a good week and have a fun and relaxing weekend planned.  We have a couple plans, but hope to keep it low key before a very busy upcoming week.

Thursday night, my dad, husband, brother, and I had plans to go to the Predators game.  We decided to have dinner at Amerigo’s before the game. I really should just not even show you my pictures of dinner out because you all know what I ordered. 🙂  On my weekend recap, I will have something other than salmon for you to see. 😉

When Nashville finally got a hockey team in 1998, my dad bought season tickets so my sister and I grew up loving hockey and going to a lot of games.  My husband played for fun in college, but never followed any professional team… until he met me.  Well, my dad got him a Predator’s jersey for Christmas so now he is a true fan! 🙂

Before the game, my little brother always likes to “play” hockey at this cute little practice rink they have set up in the lobby.  My husband loves playing with my little brother (especially XBox since I told him he was not allowed to have one in our house ;)… it really is the cutest.

My dad is kinda awesome and always gets us great seats!

We had two sets of two seats so we all took turns sitting with each other throughout the three periods of the game.  I got to sit with this guy first! 🙂

Next up was this little cutie pie.  He was all decked out from head to toe in Predator’s gear.  He gets really into the games and loves dancing when the music starts playing during the breaks.  Everyone around us loved the entertainment.

Then finally I got to sit with my daddy!

How cute are these boys?  I think Jacob really likes having a big brother. 🙂

The Predators won the game 4 to 2!  It was such an intense game, which made it so fun!  We will definitely be attending quite a few Predators games while living in Nashville!

It was such a fun night with my three favorite boys!  I am one lucky girl. 🙂

After the big W, we headed home.  You can’t see it in this picture, but Jon likes to hold Jacob’s hand in crowds or when crossing the street.  He will be a really good dad one day. 😉

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!!! Stay warm!
