Kate’s Bachelorette Party in Dallas Part 2

Happy Tuesday, yall!  I thought I would have had time to check in from Georgia over the weekend, but once again, life got in the way.  I am trying to spend less time in front of the screen and more time enjoying life, but I always love when I get to chat with you guys too.  Today I want to continue recapping my cousin’s bachelorette party in Dallas before I get to my most recent trip to Georgia with great friends!

So let’s see…Friday morning was an early one with a surprise visit to Kendra Scott (jewelry store) for the bride to pick out some new jewelry.  Kendra Scott is known for their inexpensive jewelry and color parties.  All the girls who wanted to got to pick out a setting (ring, bracelet, necklace, etc.) and choose their stone to complete their piece.  I ended up getting a new ring and I love it, but forgot to take a picture!

After some jewelry shopping, my sister and I headed to her apartment nearby to set up for brunch and a pool party. We got all the girls monogrammed hats and some sunglasses for the party.  My sister found these adorable flamingo floats and drink holders so our theme was flamingos!

We had an absolute blast eating, sipping mimosas, floating around, dancing, and laughing all day long.  We also had a lingerie party and a panty poem where the bride got new panties for all of her upcoming milestones.  It was so fun!

We had the pool to ourselves for almost the entire day which was amazing, but luckily we caught someone passing through to snap a picture of us and our hats!!

After the pool party, we all surprised the bride with an appointment at Dry Bar to get her hair blown out for the night.  The rest of us headed home to get ready for the evening festivities.

Our plans started off with dinner at HG Supply Co where we quickly snapped a picture on the roof that overlooks downtown!

Such a fun group of girls!

Always have to have a silly pic or two!

I got the usual for dinner.  And it was just as good as it always is!

After dinner we headed back to my house for a bit for what turned into an impromptu girls dancing session and some more pictures!

We went to the bars for a couple hours for some dancing before calling it a night! I will wrap up this post here as it could get rather lengthy if I finish up my recap in one post!  I will be back tomorrow to wrap up the rest of this amazing weekend in Dallas! Have a great day!!

  1. How was your weekend?
  2. Are you guys ready for fall yet?
  3. Any trips coming up for you?

Weekend Recap 6.27.16.. Boating, Brunch and a Date Night!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you!  I hope your week is going well so far!  I got in a run at 4am today, which is a big struggle for me on a Monday, so I am pretty happy about that!  Only 2 days of work this week before we are off for a long weekend with family for the 4th of July.  It was so nice to have a weekend at home with not much on the agenda.  We ended up doing a lot, but it was all fun and relaxing.  And I got my house vacuumed, mopped, dusted, organized and back in order, which is a great way to start the week!

Friday afternoon we took it easy with a short walk with the pups and a little cuddling.  Then this happened…. Otis fell asleep with Callie sleeping on top of him.  They literally slept like this for 30 minutes.  My husband and I took a million pictures because it was just too funny.  They are the best of friends.

Friday night we ate a quick dinner of a bunch of leftovers… kale salad, spaghetti squash with pesto and roasted sweet potatoes.  Around 8pm, we went to our neighbor’s house for a little get together.  They made homemade spicy margaritas and sangria and loves of delicious snacks.  We played a few games, met some new friends, and had a blast.

Late Saturday morning we headed out to the boat with our friend and the pups.  It was a beautiful day and the water was amazing!

The boys and the pups.  (Our doggies love being on the boat.)

Riley and I enjoyed floating in the water for a while.  It was so refreshing!

Saturday night my husband and I had plans to use up a gift card at our favorite restaurant, HG Supply Co.  We started out with the ahi tuna appetizer and it was to die for!! It was paired with avocado over a seaweed salad.

I got my usual make-your-own-bowl with mushroom quinoa pilaf, roasted brussel sprouts, grilled salmon, and guacamole and my husband got the burger!

Date nights are very important to us and we make a priority to have one almost every week.  It is nice to get a little dressed up and get out of the house together.  Love this guy!

Sunday morning we met up with my husband’s aunt and uncle and some of their family friends for brunch to celebrate my husband’s aunt’s birthday!  We went to Boulevardier, a little French restaurant in a cute area of town called Bishops Arts District.

I got a huge omelette with tons of veggies and it was so tasty!!

My husband and I with Aunt Nanci, the birthday girl!

The whole crew!

After brunch my husband went to play in a tennis match while I went home and cleaned the house.  Late afternoon we headed out with another friend for a short boat cruise.  The boys wake-boarded and I cheered them on while sipping some champs from the boat. 😉

Fun in the sun with my sweet girl.  She is a momma’s girl, that is for sure.

We were pretty tired last night so it was early to bed for a 4am alarm clock for a run before work.  I hope you all had an amazing weekend too and let’s make this week a great one!

  1. Tell me about your weekend!  What did you do?
  2. Have you tried any new restaurants near you lately?
  3. If you have a significant other, how often do you guys get to do a date night?

Weekend Recap 5.2.16

Well, it is here again.  Monday, that is.  It always seems to sneak up on us, doesn’t it?  We had crazy thunderstorms around here last night so the coffee is flowing already.

Another weekend roundup coming atcha.  After work on Friday we loaded up the pups (our 2 plus 3 extras) and headed to the dog park to (hopefully) tire them out.  My husband played fetch with this one while the others just roamed around.

This girl never leaves my side… she ventures out maybe 10 feet away, but then runs back quickly.  She acts like there is an invisible fence around me and she can only go so far or it will zap her.  When she starts going a little farther away from me than normal, my husband and I always joke and say “beep beep beep” as if she is going past her invisible fence.  She is quite the character.

Friday night we decided to go to our favorite restaurant, HG Supply Co, for dinner.  There was a 45 minute wait so we put our name in then ventured across the street to the Blind Butcher for a drink on the patio while we waited.

We had a giftcard from our anniversary that we wanted to use.  (Thanks Mimi!!!)

My husband got the pulled pork tacos and I did the “build your own” bowl with mushroom and cashew quinoa pilaf, honey-garlic brussels sprouts, guacamole, and grilled salmon.  We both raved over our meals.

Saturday morning started bright and early with a whole body circuit at home for me while my husband played tennis.  After lunch we had some shopping to do.  My husband and I both had a couple things to get for an upcoming trip.  He was way more successful than I was.  He also snapped the below picture of me in front of this cute sign…

After some shopping, we headed home to tackle a home project… a leaking toilet… of the joys of homeownership. 😉

Saturday night was spent relaxing on our rooftop deck with all the pups.

Sunday we had plans to meet our friends for a boat day.  We all met at our boat around 10am then headed out.  The boys all turn turns wakeboarding and skiing while the girls enjoyed the sunshine.  We had so much fun that I didn’t end up snapping any pictures the entire day.  Oh well…

All in all, it was a great weekend with lots of fun.  Today started out with a 6am Body Pump class that I had to sprint into the gym for because of the crazy rain.  Time for some more coffee!! Have a great week everyone!

  1. How was your weekend?  What did you do?
  2. Any big plans for this week?
  3. Did you get any rain this weekend?

Family Dinner

Good morning! How is your week going so far?  Mine is going well, but I am exhausted.  Keep the coffee coming!

Last night we had plans to go out to dinner with my husband’s aunt and uncle that live in the area.  We decided on HG Supply Co as it is a favorite of ours.  Found this shirt in the back of my closet!  Love when I find things in my closet that I haven’t worn in forever!

From Monday to Friday, HG Supply Co does a sunset toast with everyone in the restaurant to taste one of their infused liquors.  This one was a cucumber vodka.

I got the Chill Beets bowl with grilled salmon.  It had quinoa, black rice, kale, cucumbers, beets, and avocado with a delicious dressing.

My hubs got this cookie for dessert and the ice cream was made out of almond milk!

After dinner we headed to the rooftop bar to check out the views of downtown.

We ended the night watching a basketball game while Riley played with all our stuffed animals.  He was loving life.

I’m keeping it short and sweet today because I’ve got lots to do!! Have a great day!!

  1. Do you like beets?
  2. Do you live near your family?
  3. What time do you usually go to bed?

Snacks, treats, dogs, diy projects, and dinner

Happy Saturday guys!!! How’s that for a blog post title?  Lots to talk about today!  I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start!  Mine started off bright and early with a walk with the pups and a packed body pump class at the gym!  Just the way I like it!

Here’s a little look at a few happenings the last couple of days…

Washed and cut up fruit right after I got home from the grocery store so it was all ready to eat when I got hungry!

Topped some plan greek yogurt with my fresh fruit and a little drizzle of honey.

Then I made my favorite granola bars.  Link to the recipe can be found in this blog post.

In the making…

Ready to go in the freezer to set up before slicing and individually wrapping!

Then I made some brownies (from a box) for the boys. I topped them with chocolate icing later, but forgot to snap a pic!

This little munchkin is quite the trouble maker.

I was in the kitchen and look over and this is what I see…

Okay, fine, you can sit in the chair like a human.  But then, I look over 2 seconds later and see THIS….  Bad girl!

New friends!

This is what I saw in my car after work…. I wish it was 77!  But, I will take 65 degrees weather we had yesterday over the chilly, rainy weather we have today.

Got in a quite little 5k run (walked for a quick cool down) after work on Friday afternoon on my treadmill.

DIY collage wall in the works!  I got a bunch of our wedding pictures printed and found these beautiful frames at Pottery Barn for 20% off then another 10% off if you spend $100.  SO that is a win in my book! I will snap a picture of it all completed once I get them up on the wall with my new shelves!

Friday night we went to dinner at HG Supply Co with my brother-in-law, my sister, and her boyfriend.  It is one of our favorite restaurants and never disappoints!

I had the “create your own bowl” with quinoa, roasted brussels sprouts, grilled salmon, and guacamole!  It was delicious!  I could eat the same meal again right now!

My sister wanted me to show you guys her meal and her boyfriend’s meal too!  She had the “create your own bowl” with sweet potatoes, black beans, chicken, and guacamole and her boyfriend had the coconut curry bowl.

We had such a fun night out with great food and even better company.  Off to enjoy the weekend!!
