One Month With Francy

Hi friends!! I cannot believe how fast time is flying. Everyone says when you have a baby that the days are long and the years are short, but I feel like the days are just going by sooo fast, but the nights… those are a different story. 😉

My intention is to do a fun update every month about baby Francy, but here we are at just over six weeks… 🙂 We are getting into a routine and loving seeing her grow into her little personality each day. She is as sweet as can be and is a really good baby.

At her one month check up she was 21 inches long and weighed 9 lbs 5 oz. This girl loves to eat!

We got a couple of her newborn photos back and I can’t believe how much she has grown already.

Little naked babies are the freaking cutest.

She currently loves: naps on daddy and mommy, her snoo bassinet, the pacifier (sometimes), walks in the stroller, diaper changes, car rides, being snuggled up in her blanky, and lights and the fan.

She currently dislikes: baths (sometimes), getting her nails trimmed, waiting for her bottle to warm up, when the stroller or car come to a stop, and changing our clothes.

She has the funniest expressions and can be happy as a clam one minute and so angry the next. This girl definitely keeps us on our toes.
This month we ventured to the botanical gardens, the Mcnay Art Museum, and a few restaurants for date night. We are living it up while it is still easy to tote her around. 🙂

The dogs are still living their best lives and getting in lots of walks. I have started doing one walk a day with the baby and each doggie. Lots of steps for momma. LOL.

Off to go feed Francy! I hope yall have a great week!!

Life Lately With a Newborn

Hi!!! Happy Thursday!! How are you all? We are getting out of straight survival mode and finally getting into a pretty good routine… although it changes day by day. Today I thought I would share some updates and pictures from the last couple weeks with miss Francy.

Overall our sweet girl is very happy most of the time. Ofcourse she fusses when she is hungry, but she doesn’t mind baths or diaper changes, thankfully! She also loves to be moving all the time whether it is in her snoo basinet (100% worth the money in my opinion), swing or stroller.. she just loves to be in motion.

She also loves a good nap on daddy… I have about 100 of these pictures and I think I am going to make a book of all “naps on daddy” pictures. 🙂

She also makes the kissy face very regularly which is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.

We have had a lot of great meals provided by friends – we are forever thankful. One less meal to have to think about with a newborn is such a blessing!!

More naps on daddy. 🙂

We received these two blankets from my old boss and Jon’s work – such sweet gifts! Our girlie is soo spoiled!

We didn’t do anything for the holiday weekend, but ofcourse Mimi got Francy a festive outfit. 🙂 Francy’s due date was 7/1/21 so we planned to be in the hospital on the 4th of July, but I sure am glad we got to meet her 3 weeks earlier!!

I just love her sooo much. I definitely fell in love when I first met her, but I will say – each day I just become more and more obsessed with her. I just love staring at her and cuddling her all day long. The days just pass by so quickly and I really am trying to just soak up each moment as I know this time will go by so fast.

The dogs are still doing great with the baby which makes me so happy.

Callie gets up with me (in the middle of the night) for every single feeding. It is just the sweetest thing ever. If the baby is crying in her bassinet and I haven’t gotten her yet, Callie comes over to me and starts whining to “alert” me that the baby is crying. She has motherly instincts and I know she will be so protective over the baby in the years to come. We have a house cleaner that comes a couple times a month and she came over this week and Callie did NOT like when she got near the baby… we will have to teach Callie that other people are allowed to be near the baby. LOL.

Our girlie is growing like a weed and already up to 8 pounds and 1.5 ounces. We saw a lactation specialist this week just to make sure she is getting enough nutrition through each breastfeeding session. They weigh the baby before and after each feeding so you can know exactly how much milk the baby is getting. She gained 2 ounces, which is perfect for her age right now. We have pretty much gotten completely off formula and have been strictly breastfeeding and pumping for Jon to give her one of the nighttime bottles. Breastfeeding is going really well for us, and for that, I am very grateful. I’ve always said I will breastfeed as long as it makes sense for me and the baby, but I don’t have a timeline or goal in mind so we will just see how it goes.

We got to use my brother-in-law’s and his girlfriend’s pool the other day for Francy’s first pool day… she clearly loved it. HA! She slept through the whole thing. 🙂

The puppies got to go too! 🙂

My mom has been buying Francy ALL the pink outfits so we have been having a lot of fashion shows over here lately. 🙂

That is all I have for today! I am working to get back on a regular posting schedule, but am trying to enjoy my time at home with my girl so I am not sure what my blogging schedule will look like just yet. I will pop in again soon, but feel free to follow me on instagram, where i post more often. Hope you all have a great rest of your week and an amazing weekend!!! XOXOXO
