Good Morning everyone! I hope your week is going well so far!! I am quite aware of how sporadic my blogging has been lately and I sincerely apologize. I am still trying to figure out how to fit it in my new daily schedule.
I have been super busy with work and trying to navigate through selling our Dallas home from our of the state while continually searching for our new Nashville home. A little update on both ends… I probably shouldn’t have spoken so soon with the contract we had on our Dallas home. The buyer pulled out of the contract on the last day of the option period… It went back on the market last Friday and we actually got another offer on Monday and have come to an agreement with the new buyer. Fingers crossed this one works out so we can really give our Nashville house hunting 100%. We have gone to many open houses and toured a few houses in different neighborhoods with our realtor. We are still pretty torn about exactly where we want to live (errrr…actually I think it is just that my husband and I have different opinions on best locations, new construction versus renovated, big yard versus small yard, etc. Let’s just say our realtor sure does have her work cut out for her. 😉
Let’s back up to Friday night! We met our realtor after work to tour a few houses. Our biggest decision right now is if we want to pay top dollar for beautiful new construction that is basically on top of your neighbor or if we are willing to do some renovations. I am willing to do cosmetic renovations, but knocking down walls is beyond our expertise. 😉 We have seen quite a few on both ends of the spectrum and Friday night was no different.
Afterwards, we met Jon’s brother and girlfriend at my dad’s house. They were in town visiting from Des Moines, Iowa for the weekend. After catching up briefly, we headed to The Yellow Porch for dinner. They have a very enticing menu, but their specials page always draws me in!
I started off with a delicious beet and arugula salad with goat cheese and candied pecans. 🙂
My husband got the mussels and devoured them.
For my entree, I got the pan seared corvina. Oh my gosh, it was simply amazing. Ahh I want to go back so I can have it again!!!
My husband got the stuffed trout and loved his meal as well.
After dinner we stopped over at our friend’s house for a bit then called it a night. On Saturday morning after a quick workout in the basement, my husband and I got to work on some breakfast. Fresh cut fruit and cinnamon rolls were involved. 🙂
After breakfast we bundled up and took the dogs for a long walk in the park. When we got back, we lounged around for a bit before heading downtown for a late afternoon Predators game! We may have a little hockey obsession over here. We had really good seats so that always makes it more fun!
Same couple selfie, different Preds game. 😉
And heck yes we won!! I think I am good luck. 🙂
After dinner we walked over to the Omni hotel because we had dinner reservations at a restaurant located inside called Kitchen Notes.
Oh! I totally forgot to mention about the most exciting thing that happened to me last week! So I have a Predators jersey from the early 2000s when they had just been around for a little while, but it is in Dallas. My dad got my husband a jersey for Christmas and I have been borrowing my brother’s jersey when we aren’t going to the game together. Well… last Friday morning when I was working out in the basement, my brother came down to say bye to me before heading off to school. He said he had a present for me before he left and he handed me a new Preds jersey that he and my dad had picked up Thursday at the game. I almost started crying because it was such a sweet gesture. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Here I am on Friday night with my favorite new item of clothing!
Once we were seated the waitress brought out a big basket of different types of bread/biscuits and jams/butter.
Okay I just now realized I got a beet and arugula salad two nights in a row. I think I could probably have it every night now that I think about it. Any salad with goat cheese and candied pecans will always be a winner in my book.
For my entree I chose the salmon with the succotash. It was so so so yummy! I saved half of it for lunch the next day and it was just as good as the first time.
After dinner we headed to Broadway for a little bar hopping and some live music.
We met up with our friend Scott for a bit. #meanmugging
We took my brother-in-law and his girlfriend to a few of the famous spots downtown then called it a night around 11ish. We are so fun. 🙂
Sunday was spent catching up on laundry, doing some cleaning and house projects for my dad, meal prepping, doing stuff for our move, and taking a couple naps. 😉 It is nice to have a little downtime before another week begins!
I promise I will talk to you all before another week goes by! P.S. I am still reading all of your blogs, but just haven’t had time to comment. I am going to catch up sooner or later. 🙂
- How was your weekend?
- Would you rather have new construction or a house that needs renovations?
- How many jerseys (if any) do you own?
