Happy Wednesday ya’ll! How is your week going? I just got back from an early morning Body Pump class, which always starts my day on the right note! It was a pretty challenging class and I am super sore from a class I took on Monday after taking off almost 2 weeks of exercising. It is nice to get back into a routine though.
Today I am going to share pictures from our third and last day in Amsterdam!
We knew we wanted to go to the Anne Frank Museum and there is always a super long line (think 4-5 hours) so we decided to get there about an hour before it opened at 9am to wait in line. By the time we got there the line was already pretty long, but we waited anyway. You can buy tickets online, but they only release so many and they were already sold out by the time I checked before our trip. We ended up waiting almost 3 hours to get in (in the cold and wind), but it was definitely worth it. The museum is the actual house that they hid in during the war for 2 years. We were not allowed to take pictures, but it is a must see if you are ever in Amsterdam.
Afterwards we just ended up walking around all afternoon. We were too cold to ride bikes.
I love all the architecture of the buildings in Amsterdam. So interesting.
We grabbed lunch at a nearby pub. I got a salmon salad (I am a creature of habit, what can I say) and I love that smoked salmon is so popular in Amsterdam and London. It was so good!
My husband and I thought these bikes with 2 seats for children were the cutest things.
More strolling around.
And sipping drinks.
“Are you sure we are going the right way? – me “Yes, definitely.” – my husband…two minutes later… “We are definitely going in the wrong direction. It’s this way I swear.” – my husband.
I still love him, don’t worry.
For dinner we ended up at a cute little Italian restaurant called Peppino.
We shared the mussels to start, which came in a tomato-based sauce already out of their shells (!!!). They were probably the best mussels I have ever had.
Pizza for the hubs and salmon (again) for me. Yum!
A little night stroll before bed!
That about wraps up our time in Amsterdam! We had so much fun! Tomorrow we go back to London… but not downtown. Can’t wait to share!
Questions:
- What is your favorite appetizer to order at a restaurant?
- Did you read the Diary of Anne Frank?
- Are you good at directions or directionally challenged like me?
All your pics are making me want to travel to Amsterdam! BTW, I have to give you props for eating so healthy on vacation. 🙂

It was a really neat experience and definitely the longest I have ever waited in line for anything! yum, guac is my favorite… just made some last night! I want to read it again now. I have to use my GPS to get anywhere… my husband is constantly amazed how often I get lost. 🙂
