Happy Tuesday! It’s always hard to get back into the swing of things after a really nice break over the holidays with family. But here we are, Thanksgiving is over and it’s back to the grind. I secretly crave the structure and schedule of a normal week, but I will miss sleeping in until my body is ready to get up.
A few more pics from our trip…

Snacks before Thanksgiving dinner
My sweet Jonny
A yummy festive salad I made to go with Thanksgiving dinner (we needed some greens!). It had arugula, spinach, craisins, apples, and some special cheese my mother-in-law had at her house… I made a simple vinegarette with olive oil, lemon, honey, cherry balsamic, salt, and pepper.
My mother-in-law found this recipe for avocado and quinoa stuffed acorn squash. It wasn’t very hard to make and it was worth the effort! It was so good and the leftovers were even better! YUM!
Friday my husband, brother-in-law, and I went to do a little Black Friday shopping at Old Navy and Lowes. I got a bunch of great deals at Old Navy… the boys did not get so lucky at Lowes. Saturday, the boys played tennis then we went to see Mocking Jay part 2 before dinner at our favorite restaurant.
My sweet Riley
This was a snapchat of Riley trying so hard to reach the plate of food on the table…. he ended up falling on his face… poor pup 😦 life’s rough.
I will be back tomorrow and hopefully everyday this week for some yummy food updates and recipes!!
- Did you travel for Thanksgiving? We did, but the airports both ways were not crowded at all. SO NICE.
- What is your favorite thing to do with family over the holidays?
- What is your favorite squash/and recipe? I love butternut squash soup and spaghetti squash with pesto!
